The Rattler Girls Golf team hosted their home tournament Monday, January 26th at Quail Creek Country Club. They had a field of 83 girls from 22 different schools. Winning both first and second place in the tournament was Reagan High School with team scores of 348 and 374, respectively. In third place was Westlake Lady Chapparrals Red team with a score of 385. Individual medals were given to the top 3 lowest scores. First place went to Rachel Thorstenson with an 83, second place was Katie Therstenson with an 86 and in a close third place was Romonia Gonzalez with an 87. Freshman Lady Rattler golfers Hannah McGee and Laura Marmolejo both played their best rounds of golf, breaking their personal low scores by over 10 strokes each. Head Coach Ashley Patterson says of the freshman girls, “I couldn’t be more proud of these two ladies today. They stayed calm and trusted their abilities and put into effect what we have been working on all year and it paid off greatly. I see them both shooting even lower scores in no time.” The Freshman Rattler Girls golf team will compete next on Monday February 9th in the New Braunfels Girls Golf Tournament at Landa Park Golf Course at Comal Springs.
