Lady Rattlers shortstop and captain, Olivia Lantigua, and junior pitcher, Ciara Bosquez, have been names to the Texas Sportswriters Association All-State Team. Lantigua, recently named 1st Team All-Central Texas, was named to the 3rd team, and Bosquez was named Honorable Mention.
Achieving All-state recognition is a great honor and both of these young ladies earned their selections.
Lantigua, a McLennan College signee, led the Lady Rattlers in almost all offensive categories this season, batting .522 with 47 hits, 32 RBIs, 35 runs scored, 10 doubles, 7 triples, and a homerun. She also picked up 5 wins for the Lady Rattlers in the circle. She was also named 1st Team All-District.
Bosquez, in her first year as a varsity starting pitcher, led the Lady Rattlers to an 8-2 record in district play with her only losses coming to 6A state runner-up, Bowie. Bosquez struck out 110 batters this season while helping herself out at the plate, posting a .310 average. She was also named 1st Team All-District.
