Multiple Teams · Rattlers Take District

The San Marcos Rattlers returned to action and finished up district play on Thursday night as they traveled to Burger Stadium to take on the Bulldogs of Bowie High School. The Rattlers earned their Ninth win of the season, Fifth district victory, and the District 14 6A title, 31-26. The Rattler offense was led by QB, Prudy Calderon, who rushed for two scores. RB, Jamon Johnson,accounted for 258 total yards and 2 TD’s, including a kickoff return to begin the second half of play. The Rattler defense was led by CB, Demarcus Hall, OLB, Josh Banda, SAF, Therrance Soto, and LB, Mike Vargas. The Rattler defense secured the win with a fumble recovery in the final 2 minutes of the 4th quarter.

The San Marcos Rattlers (9-1) return to action and begin the 2017 UIL 6A D2 football playoffs on Friday, November 17, vs the Westwood High School Warriors (5-5) at Rattler Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 PM.
