Lady Rattler junior standout, Andrea Garcia, has committed to play softball for Odessa College. Garcia has played the outfield for the Lady Rattlers for the past two years, and she will see some time at third base this season with the departure of Melanie Castilla, who is currently playing for Schreiner University.
Garcia said she chose Odessa “because the atmosphere is great, it has the small town feel that I love, and everyone works so hard over there, from the faculty all of the way down to the students. I saw myself being a part of that atmosphere.”
She will see time in the outfield which is the position she is most comfortable with, and she feels is her strongest.
Andrea plans on majoring in Psychology in order to work toward a degree in Counseling. She intends to become a school counselor.
