The Rattlers varsity boys basketball team gained valuable experience as they took on three different opponents in the San Marcos Scrimmage this past Saturday. The Rattlers, who only have four returns off their Bi-District Playoff team a year ago, started strong in their scrimmage segment against San Antonio Churchill winning the segment, 31-23. In the second scrimmage segment against Westlake, the Rattlers struggled. Westlake’s size was a big factor in the outcome along with many Rattler turnovers. The Rattlers lost their second scrimmage segment, 44-12. The Rattlers showed a lot of character, toughness, and grit bouncing back to win their third scrimmage segment over Austin LBJ, 28-24. The Rattlers will take Saturday’s experience and grow from it.
The Rattlers final scrimmage will take place, Tuesday, Nov. 6, at Hays High School where the Rattlers will compete against Hays and Rouse. This scrimmage will be an all-level scrimmage. The 9th grade team will start at 5:30pm / JV at 6:30pm / Varsity at 7:30pm.
The Rattlers start their season against San Antonio Kennedy on Saturday, Nov. 10, in the Snake Pit. Game times are 12:30pm and 2:00pm.
