Boys Varsity Basketball · Rattler Basketball Gives Back to Community

The Rattler Basketball Program took part in two projects to give back to and assist their community.

Last Saturday, members of the boys Rattler basketball teams and the coaching staff helped the Hays County Brown Santa Program deliver gifts and food to families in need across Hays County.  The opportunity to help Brown Santa has become an annual event for the Rattler Basketball Program.  Our Rattlers did an amazing job of putting smiles on young children’s faces and hopefully brightened up their Christmas experience.

The second project the Rattlers took part in was a food drive for the Hays County Food Bank initiated by the Boys Rattler Basketball Booster Club.  Members of the Rattler Booster Club spearheaded the food drive over a two week period at Rattler home games.  This past Tuesday, the Rattlers donated over 550 lbs of donated food to the Hays County Food Bank.  This included a large donation by one of the Rattlers’ opponents as St. Andrew’s players and families brought bags of food to add to the cause.  The Rattlers would like to thank everyone who donated to this very important cause.

The Rattler Basketball Program looks forward to assisting the community in other ways in the future.
