Andrea Garcia Voted Athlete of the Month

Congrats to Andrea Garcia for being selected A+ Federal Credit Union Central Texas Female Athlete of the Month. Andrea is junior outfielder/third baseman that will be in her third year on varsity this year. She is committed to play ball and accepted a scholarship to Odessa College. She has great work ethic and leadership skills.

Silva Wraps Up Hill College Softball Career

Lady Rattler alumus, Makayla Silva, recently completed her final scholarship season at Hill College.  Silva, a 2016 graduate of SMHS, was an All-District third baseman for the Lady Rattlers during her tenure.  She accepted a scholarship to play at Hill College in Hillsoboro with fellow alumni Alyssa De Los Santos, Mariah Delgado, and Cici Kinere.

The Austin American Statesman released it’s All Central Texas Softball Teams recently, and two Lady Rattlers received nods. Freshman shortstop, Kaylee Cavazos, was selected All Central Texas Newcomer of the Year.  Cavazos capped a stellar freshman season with the Lady Rattlers by leading the team with a .400 batting average. SMHS Softball to Host All-Star Game & Clinic

SMHS will be hosting the Fellowship of Christian Athletes All-Star Classic on Monday, June 11th at the Lady Rattler softball field.  A clinic will be held prior to the game for ages 7-12.  The All-Stars and Division I softball players will be working with the girls, and the cost is $25.  Please see the attached

Caroline Cortez Named Academic All-State

Lady Rattler senior first baseman, Caroline Cortez, has been named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association Academic All-State Team.  Selection is based cumulative GPA for grades 9-11, and the student athlete must have maintained a grade point average of 94 or better over the three years. Congratulations on your well-deserved academic achievement!  

Lady Rattlers Grab Postseason Honors Both On and Off the Field

The Lady Rattler softball team finished their season as District 14-6A Champions and Bi-District Finalists.  The girls were well-represented on the 14-6A All-District Team.   Senior 3B and Schreiner commit, Melanie Castilla, was named District Most Valuable Player. Castilla batted .377 on the season with 29 hits, 24 runs scored, and 5 doubles.   1st
